GEOSYNTHETICS IN MUD PUMPING

Mud pumping causes extensive and expensive track and ballast deterioration. It can result in loss of line and level and the creation of mud holes which have traditionally required extensive maintenance and monitoring to keep under control.

Tracktex has been created to address this problem. When installed at the ballast formation interface, it prevents rainwater penetrating through to the underlying deposits whilst under load. This allows a controlled upward movement of water through capillary action and also filters and retains any fine soil particles, in situ, during the process.
